Some Really Nice Weather
We end the workweek on a very nice note, with partly cloudy skies and pleasant mid-May temperatures. Weekend weather looks good. Saturday and Sunday feature scattered clouds and seasonably-nice temperatures, with great weather for getting outdoors. The next decent chance for showers and thunderstorms won’t come until next Tuesday.

Forecast Discussion
We look forward to three dry days, starting with today. High pressure nosing southward into the state from the Northeast will provide some great weather to get outside. Temperatures will be seasonable through Sunday. Normals for this time of year are upper 70s for highs and lower to mid 50s for nighttime lows.
An upper level low lumbering across the eastern Carolinas/Mid-Atlantic states should keep the inclement weather east of our area during the weekend. Moisture and instability will increase sufficiently by Monday afternoon for more isolated late-day showers and thunderstorms.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday as the next weakening frontal zone approaches western North Carolina.
